Quiz Night Success for Foster Hope

We recently hosted a lively quiz night at the Village Green Café and Bar to raise funds for our District 16 (New Zealand) biennium project—Foster Hope. With a spirited compere, plenty of chatter, and friendly competition, the evening was a fantastic success, raising just under $2,500.

After allocating the required contributions to our Local Fund and Zonta International projects, we were proud to donate the remaining funds to Foster Hope. Their incredible work provides backpacks filled with essential items for children who are uplifted from their homes in difficult circumstances—often arriving with nothing.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and helped make the night so memorable. A special thanks to the businesses and members that donated raffle prizes. Your support is helping bring comfort and dignity to children in need.

Our members sold delicious pies to friends and family as part of a fundraising effort for our Local Fund. Thanks to their hard work and the generosity of our community, we raised vital funds that were shared between our local initiatives and Zonta International.

A portion of the proceeds will support global projects, including Zonta’s programme to end violence against women and girls—an issue that affects communities worldwide. This effort reflects the heart of Zonta: local action with international impact.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and to Bakehouse on Bond. Your support helps us build a better, safer world for women and girls everywhere.

High Tea Event for Scholarship Funds

What a wonderful way to support women in their education. We hosted a very successful high tea at Fable Dunedin with Dunedin jewellers showing their creations while guests sipped wine and enjoyed canapes.

Funds raised will provide $2,000 to support the Jane M Klausman Women in Business Scholarship (for students studying business at Otago University or Otago Polytech) and $1,000 for the Young Women in Public Affairs Scholarship (for senior high school students).
