The Zonta Club of Metropolitan Dunedin was chartered on 28 August 1997.
We are a friendly group of about 30 women who meet on the first Tuesday of each month (except January) at Errick’s Event Centre for dinner, listen to an interesting speaker, and discuss club matters such as fundraising, fellowship, and assessing any applications from women that we may be able to support.
As well as the cost associated with the dinner each month, membership subscription is due annually in May, and is guided by the US exchange rate. Membership is usually about $250 per year.
Every member belongs to a committee which usually meets during the week following the club meeting. The committees organise events, such as service projects, fellowship outings and fundraisers.
The Advocacy Committee works to raise awareness about gender-based violence and promote respect for women and girls, both locally and nationally. The members take care of the application forms for our Young Women in Leadership and Women in Business scholarships. Read about our latest recipient of the Young Women in Leadership award.
Some of our activities can be seen on the Projects page.
Members are encouraged to give their time and commitment to attend meetings and engage in fellowship and service activities.
Check our News page to read about previous meetings and service events.
