This month (May) we were very pleased to welcome to our club meeting Le Ying Hu from Logan Park High School. She was the successful applicant of the Young Women in Leadership award and received $1,000 from our club to help her continue her studies next year.
Zonta Young Women in Leadership Award (formerly the Young Women in Public Affairs Award) recognizes young women, ages 16-19, for demonstrating leadership skills and commitment to public service and civic causes, and encourages them to continue their participation in public and political life. The program operates at the Zonta club, district and international levels. We will put Le Ying’s name forward to District 16 New Zealand and she may be successful at a national level award. We wish her well.
