Our speaker this month was Rachel Butler, General Manager of Startup Dunedin, the epicentre of the Ōtepoti Dunedin community of entrepreneurs, innovators and disruptors. With a mission to make Dunedin one of the world’s most entrepreneurial small cities, Startup Dunedin is a one stop resource shop for anyone with a great idea and a dream to turn it into a reality. Funded by the Dunedin City Council, University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic, Startup Dunedin offers various courses and programmes to help businesses and students.
Did you know that funding is available for local businesses working towards waste minimisation goals? If your business involves minimising waste and you’d like to apply for some of that funding, they can help you get your startup in the best possible shape.
We also welcomed Lucia to our club at our August meeting and presented her with her Zonta pin and yellow rose. Lucia is keen to join our United Nations and Advocacy committee. They have some exciting projects planned for later in the year, so we are sure they are very busy.
